about

"Morning Sun", originally titled, "Mornin' Sun", performed by pop singer Larry Santos is the one of the lost Christian-flavored pop songs of 1970, which is an early example of Christian-pop music that is way before Michael W. Smith, Twila Paris, Sheila Walsh, Kathy Troccoli, Sandi Patti and Amy Grant. It was written by himself and Michael Valvano, who was a member of the popular white soul Motown group, Mike & The Modifiers. It was missed out on the Billboard Hot 100 pop music charts when it was ruined by a suggestive song by The Beatles, entitled, "I Am The Walrus".

lyrics

Chorus:
Morning sun
When You gonna take Me back where I belong
Morning sun
When You gonna take Me back where I belong

Standing here on aching feet
With nobody up to meet Me but the morning sun
Looking for a ride to take Me somewhere
Anywhere closer to the place where I've begun
I left home with just a dream
A dream of something I've never seen
But I just can't seem to find it anywhere

Repeat Chorus

Everyone along the highway
Looking for a way to make their dreams come true
All I found is loneliness
And an aching in My heart that cries for You
I can see Your golden hair
I can see You standing there
Crying as You watch Me walk away

Repeat Chorus and fade
