Long, Long Time

by Larry Santos

/
1.
Love will abide Take things in stride Sounds like good advice But there's no one at my side And time washes clean Love's wounds unseen That's what someone told me But I don't know what it means Chorus: Oh, (Cause) I've done everything I know To try and make you mine But I think I'm gonna love you For a long, long time Caught in my fears Blinking back the tears I can't say you trust me When you never let me near And I never received One response from you All the while you fell Over guys you never knew Repeat Chorus Wait for the day You'll go away Knowing that you want me And the price I'd have to pay And life's full of loss No one knows the cost Living in the memory Of a love that never was Oh, I've done everything I know To try and change your mind But I think I'm gonna love you For a long long time Repeat Chorus
2.
If You go, I'll break up inside 'Cause I know I know how much I've cried And I'm sure My heart will die If You say goodbye, 'cause Chorus: You are My dream You're the only One I need You are My life You are My soul You're all that's right I know that I won't love again I'll kiss goodbye and bear the pain Knowing love has passed Me by Wondering why when Repeat Chorus You are My dream You're the only One I need You are My life You are My soul You are everything I need

about

Larry Santos' remake of "Long, Long Time", originally done by Linda Ronstadt, written by Gary White is the first single, taken from his 1976 album, "You Are Everything I Need". It was missing on the Billboard Hot 100 pop music charts when it was demolished by The Beatles' sexually suggestive song, "Happiness Is A Warm Gun", which was banned by the BBC due to its sexual content.
