Mornin' Sun

by Larry Santos

/
1.
Morning Sun 02:40
Chorus: Morning sun When You gonna take Me back where I belong Morning sun When You gonna take Me back where I belong Standing here on aching feet With nobody up to meet Me but the morning sun Looking for a ride to take Me somewhere Anywhere closer to the place where I've begun I left home with just a dream A dream of something I've never seen But I just can't seem to find it anywhere Repeat Chorus Everyone along the highway Looking for a way to make their dreams come true All I found is loneliness And an aching in My heart that cries for You I can see Your golden hair I can see You standing there Crying as You watch Me walk away Repeat Chorus and fade
2.
When You're weary, feeling small When tears are in Your eyes I will dry them all; I'm on Your side When times get rough and friends just can't be found Chorus: Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay Me down Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay Me down When You're down and out When You're on the street When evening falls so hard I will comfort You I'll take Your part When darkness comes and pain is all around Repeat Chorus Sail on, silver girl Sail on by Your time has come to shine All Your dreams are on their way See how they shine If You need a Friend I'm sailing right behind Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease Your mind Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease Your mind

Bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air And feather canyons everywhere, I've looked at clouds that way But now they only block the sun they rain and snow on everyone So many things I would have done, but clouds got in my way I've looked at clouds from both sides now From up and down and still somehow It's cloud's illusions I recall I really don't know clouds at all Moons and Junes and ferris wheels the dizzy dancing way you feel As every fairy tale comes real, I've looked at love that way But now it's just another show, you leave 'em laughin when you go And if you care don't let them know, don't give yourself away I've looked at love from both sides now From give and take and still somehow It's love's illusions I recall I really don't know love at all Tears and fears and feeling proud, to say, "I love you" right out loud Dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way But now old friends are acting strange they shake their heads, they say I've changed But something's lost but something's gained in living every day I've looked at life from both sides now From win and lose and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life at all
4.
How You gonna smile When I'm not there smiling too? How You gonna laugh When I'm trying Someone new? How You gonna love When it's not Me loving You? What You gonna do? What You gonna do, girl? Chorus: Where You gonna turn When I'm not standing by? Will You ever love Those tears will never run dry? Think that You can take it? How You gonna make it when I'm gone, long gone? How You gonna kiss When those kisses lose their taste? Can You face the morning When each day's a total waste? How You gonna find sunshine You carelessly misplaced? What You gonna do? How's it gonna be? What You gonna do without Me? Repeat Chorus What You gonna do? How's it gonna be? What You gonna do without Me? What You gonna do now?
5.
Dream Seeker 02:39
Dream Seeker, Dream Seeker To You those dreams are more than just pretend The road You seek leads to the rainbow's end No doubt You'll find Your Way someday Dream Seeker, Dream Seeker Go chase Your dreams, keep looking and You'll find The Shangri-La You carry in Your mind No doubt You'll find Your Way someday Chorus: And when You do, You'll start hoping and planning And looking and wishing all over again Cause the treasure You find is the pleasure You find In the travels of Your mind Dream Seeker, Dream Seeker It must be great to imagine where You're going Cause half the fun in life is simply knowing dreams can be So, come on, Dream Seeker, find a dream for Me Repeat Chorus Dream Seeker, Dream Seeker (repeat and fade)
6.
Chorus: Now that I have found You I built My world around You Give You all the love that I can give Now that I have found You I built My world around You This time I know that it's for real This time I know that it's for real All My life I tried to find The secret love that wandered through My mind But in dreams came just a trace A silent fall without a face I'd call out loud and ask Your Name So I would know You when You came But You would only disappear Now I'm so glad, girl, You're finally here Repeat Chorus Now I know and believe Having faith brought You to Me There's Someone we can't see And I'm so glad, girl, He brought You to Me Repeat Chorus
7.
Get Together 03:47
Love is but a song to sing Fear's the way we die You can make the mountains ring Or make the angels cry Though the bird is on the wing And You may not know why [Chorus:] Come on people now Smile on Your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now Some may come and some may go We shall surely pass When the one that left us here Returns for us at last We are but a moment's sunlight Fading in the grass [Chorus] If You hear the song I sing You will understand You hold the key to love and fear All in Your trembling hand Just one key unlocks them both It's there at Your command [Chorus]
8.
Wandering man, tell me your story Look at you, you got nothing What makes you free, freer than me? Wandering man, what is your secret? There's something in the smile you wear A happiness that I can't find anywhere Chorus: You got nothing, but you got more than me I got all the good things, but I'm not free and I can see Wandering man, you found the answer Someday tell me all you find And as you travel pity me, 'cause I must stay behind Repeat Chorus
9.
Where it began, I can't begin to knowing But then I know it's growing strong Was in the spring And spring became the summer Who'd have believed you'd come along. Hands, touching hands Reaching out, touching me touching you Chorus: Sweet Caroline Good times never seemed so good I've been inclined To believe they never would But now I look at the night And it don't seem so lonely We fill it up with only two. And when I hurt, Hurting runs off my shoulders How can I hurt when I'm with you Warm, touching warm Reaching out, touching me touching you Repeat Chorus Oh, no, no Sweet Caroline Good times never seemed so good Sweet Caroline, I believe they never could
10.
Deep down inside I know I still love her But she'll never know 'cause I'll never tell I'll confide that I'm thinking of her And wishing her well I can't walk up to her and say to her Chorus: Baby, what you been doing I still love you like I did You know, nothing's really changed here But being the way I am I keep it hid Lately I've seen that look in her eyes That just breaks my heart She needs me so to lean on at this moment Oh why can't I walk up to that old love of mine and say Repeat Chorus Maybe someday I'll throw off my foolish pride This ain't so good Watching her die this way Cause she's the same girl inside Oh why can't I walk up to that old love of mine and say Repeat Chorus

about

The lost pop album of the early '70s, produced by the late Artie Fields.

"Mornin' Sun" is the second album, done by soft-and-smooth-voiced pop singer Larry Santos that happened to be one of the lost albums of the 1970s since it was a promotional copy; now it is a hitmaking pop album of 1970, produced by the late jazz trumpet player, writer, engineer and founder of Artie Fields Productions, named Artie Fields. His soft and soulful pop hits, "Morning Sun", originally the title cut and "Now That I Have Found You" missed the Top 40 when they were demolished by 2 songs by The Beatles, called, "I Am The Walrus" and "Come Together" with the lyrics that aren't good, which they were banned by the BBC since rateyourmusic.com once said:

Yikes! Larry dressed to kill with a leather vest and sly smirk on his face launched his second LP which... taa-dah! is peppered with popular covers. Simon & Garfunkel, The Foundations and Joni Mitchell all get the Santos treatment. But the song that stands out has to be the highly rearranged Youngbloods' classic "Get Together" turning it from its original high vocal plea for peace to a macho soul ballad witch fits more firmly in the topic of the Vietnam
War.

But just to shake things up, Larry took out the tambourine and woke up the good times by singing Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline", beating out Elvis' cover attempt by weeks!

Though all this may seem grand, the LP cranked out no hit singles and only the R&B stations gave it a shot. Maybe they were already playing Richie Havens' "High Flying Bird"?
Larry threw out the leather vest and changed labels for his third try. This time he changed his style for good!
