Morning Sun

from Mornin' Sun by Larry Santos

/

about

“Morning Sun” is a 1970 inspirational mid-tempo pop song, written by pop singer Larry Santos and Michael Valvano, who used to be a member of the popular short-lived white soul from the Motown era, called, Mike & The Modifiers and first recorded by Larry Santos himself on his second album of the same name, produced by the late Artie Fields. It is the first track on side 1. This happens to be the obscure lost oldie of 1970.

lyrics

Chorus:
Morning sun
When You gonna take Me back where I belong
Morning sun
When You gonna take Me back where I belong

Standing here on aching feet
With nobody up to meet Me but the morning sun
Looking for a ride to take Me somewhere
Anywhere closer to the place where I've begun
I left home with just a dream
A dream of something I've never seen
But I just can't seem to find it anywhere

Repeat Chorus

Everyone along the highway
Looking for a way to make their dreams come true
All I found is loneliness
And an aching in My heart that cries for You
I can see Your golden hair
I can see You standing there
Crying as You watch Me walk away

Repeat Chorus and fade
